The initial pick-up from San Juan del Sur was about 50 minutes late. I had to contact Gekko and was then given a number to contact the local provider. He responded within 10 minutes to say they had delays. After this it went like clockwork. Pick up after the border was on time and the a seamless switch at Liberia to another bus. Apart from the beginning it would be five stars.

They initially told me that the driver had already been at the pickup point and had left, even though I had been waiting there for over 30 minutes and no bus ever arrived. They also said the ticket was non-refundable (USD 100). Fortunately, after I managed to contact the driver directly, he came back and picked me up.
The journey itself was also disappointing. It was advertised as a smooth transfer, but we had to change buses twice, with long waits both at the border (which is understandable) and later at a shopping mall. At the mall, the driver told us we had 20 minutes, so we quickly went into the supermarket. When we returned, our bags had already been moved onto another bus without supervision, and the driver had left without us. We had to rush to find the correct bus.
Overall, the service was poorly organized and not at all as advertised. For USD 100, I expected a much smoother and more professional experience.
