Long journey but plenty of stops

We got squeezed with way to many people in one shuttle. All the luggage goes to the top of the vehicle. At least they cover it so it doesnt get wet. Then you drive 5h like that to Rio Dulce where you have to change the shuttle. So its a lie that its a direct shuttle!! From there we drove another 5h to Guatemala City, where we stopped again! After that you have 2h more to Antigua. So in total we needed 14 hours!
I would recommend if you go from Flpres to Antigua take first a nightbus to Guatemala City and from there a Chicken bus to Antigua. It costs the same, but its more comfortable and you are faster.
